How to Form a Three-phase Transformer with Three Single-phase Transformers?
To form a three phase 50 KVA dry resin transformer with three single - phase transformers, follow these steps:
Connection on the input side: Connect the input terminals of the three single - phase transformers to the three phases of the power supply respectively. Ensure that the phase sequence is correct, usually corresponding to A, B, and C phases.
Output side connection: There are two common connection methods for the output side.
Star (Y) connection: Connect one end of each single - phase transformer's secondary winding together to form the neutral point. Then, the other three ends are the three - phase output terminals.
Delta (Δ) connection: Connect the end of one single - phase transformer's secondary winding to the start of the next one in sequence, forming a closed loop, and the connection points are the three - phase output terminals.
Ensure balance: Make sure the output voltages of the three single - phase transformers are equal. If necessary, adjust the magnetic core saturation or tap positions of the step down and step up distribution transformers to achieve voltage balance.
